We are looking for people who are curious, eager to learn, and interested in how their work feels to the person using it. Whether you are early in your engineering career or ready to take more independent ownership of features, we would like to hear from you!
- Implement features across our web apps, turning designs and accompanying specifications into high-quality user interfaces that deliver a great user experience.
- Work with TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Apollo GraphQL to bring those features to life.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers across Broker to help build products that make complex topics like investing more accessible to our users
- Care about what you deliver: review the experience from the user's perspective, pay attention to detail, and raise concerns or suggest improvements when a design or implementation feels wrong for users.
- Take ownership of features at a scope that matches your experience, growing your responsibility across the development lifecycle with support from colleagues.
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code, with care for quality, security, and maintainability.
- Develop your understanding of modern frontend practices, including automated testing, continuous integration and deployment, and web performance.
- Stay curious, take part in code reviews and technical discussions, and continuously develop your skills through feedback and collaboration.
- A university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or a comparable qualification.
- Hands-on experience building web interfaces, gained through studies, training, internships, employment, or personal projects. We assess depth and independence against the level of the role.
- A good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and core programming concepts.
- Familiarity with React is welcome, alongside an interest in developing your skills in TypeScript, Next.js, and GraphQL. You do not need experience with every technology listed.
- Strong motivation to learn, pick up new concepts, ask questions, and apply feedback.
- Analytical thinking and an interest in understanding both technical and product-related problems.
- An interest in building great user experiences, developing an eye for detail, and understanding the user's perspective.
- Good communication skills and an openness to collaborate, give feedback, and learn from others.
- Professional proficiency in English.
